Police: Man with gunshot wound refuses to talk to officers

SEATTLE -- A man found walking along Rainier Avenue South with a serious gunshot wound to his stomach early Monday morning refused to tell officers what happened and had to be convinced to get medical help, according to the Seattle Police Department.

Gunshots were reported near 48th Avenue South and South Kenyon Street around 2:30 a.m.,  and officers responded to find a man in his 30s with a gunshot wound walking a few blocks away.

The man wouldn't talk to the officers and refused medical attention, according to police. But, he eventually agreed to be transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

Officers canvassed the area and were unable to find any witnesses or evidence of the shooting.
