Police: Woman mistakes man for pot dealer, whips him with suspenders

SEATTLE -- A woman hoping to buy marijuana mistook a man sitting in the U-District for a pot dealer and whipped him over the head with her suspenders when he was unable to sell her any, according to the Seattle Police Department.

According to the police report for the incident, the victim was sitting outside an unnamed business in the 4500 block of 15th Avenue Northeast around 4:40 p.m. Sept. 18 when the woman approached and said she wanted to buy some pot.

The victim told the stranger she must have the wrong person; but the woman insisted the victim was a drug dealer and would not leave him alone, according to the report.

Eventually the woman became so agitated she reportedly started whipping the victim in the head with her suspenders before hitting him in the forehead with a rock. The woman also broke out the business' window with the same rock, according to the report.

The victim was able to escape inside the business, and the woman ran off.
