Police: Women shoot fireworks at NYE reveler, steal his shoes

SEATTLE -- A Seattle resident told officers he was suffering from cold feet after three women attacked him with fireworks and stole his shoes on New Year's Eve, according to the Seattle Police Department.

The victim contacted police around 9:30 a.m. on New Year's Day and said he was watching the Space Needle fireworks show from Plymouth Pillars Park when he was confronted by three women.

He said the women started shoving him then shot firework "poppers" at him, causing him to fall and injure his hip. According to the police report for the incident, one of the women stole the victim's pair of Nikes after he went to the ground.

The victim told officers he had cold feet because the women took his shoes and he spent the night in the park. According to the report, he was unable to explain why he didn't return to his apartment, which was less than a block away.

At his request, the victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center.

It does not appear this incident was related to the three women arrested for reportedly robbing a number of people closer to the Space Needle festivities.
