LAKEWOOD, Wash. -- The Lakewood Police Department has released a sketch of the driver suspected of hitting and killing a 19-year-old man trying to flag down help after crashing his own car early Sunday morning in Lakewood.

According to police, the victim crashed his car around 5 a.m. in the 4000 block of 96th Street South and was in the street trying to flag down help when he was hit by a minivan. He was later pronounced dead.

A passenger in the victim's car told police the driver of the minivan stopped briefly before driving off again with offering to help or identifying himself. There were at least three other people in the van with the driver, according to police.

The van was described as a white or tan Ford Windstar-type minivan. It should have damage to its front and possibly undercarriage.

Police are continuing to investigate.
