Sheriff: Drunk driver crashes head-on into deputy

SHELTON, Wash. -- A drunk driver ran a stop sign and crashed head-on into a deputy Wednesday afternoon in Shelton, according to the Mason County Sheriff's Office.

The deputy was driving his patrol vehicle in the 300 block of South First Street shortly before 5 p.m. when he was struck by another car.

Both the deputy and the other driver, a 30-year-old man from Shelton, suffered minor injuries.

The other driver was arrested and booked into Mason County Jail for investigation of DUI.
