WHITE CENTER, Wash. -- The King County Sheriff's Office is hoping a distinctive purse shaped like a high-heel shoe will lead detectives to whoever attacked, sexually assaulted and robbed a woman earlier this month in White Center.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the victim was walking near Southwest Roxbury Street and 24th Avenue Southwest around midnight March 7 when a man stopped her and asked for a cigarette.

After the victim gave him a cigarette, he dragged her to a nearby lot, punched her multiple times and sexually assaulted her, according to the Sheriff's Office. After the assault, the man reportedly ran off with the victim's purse.

The victim was unable to give a detailed description of her attacker, but detectives believe he may have abandoned her purse nearby or given it to someone else. They are hoping the purse will lead them to a suspect.
