Sleeping family robbed at gunpoint inside Seattle home

SEATTLE -- A sleeping family, including a young child, was robbed by three men armed with a gun and knife inside their Hillman City home early Tuesday, according to the Seattle Police Department.

According to police, the victims -- two men, two women and a child -- were woken up around 3:45 a.m. when they heard someone breaking through the the backdoor of their home in the 4600 block of South Orcas Street.

The men confronted the victims and demanded money, according to police. One man reportedly pulled out a knife and took a gold chain from one of the male victims.

According to police, one of the female victims ran to the kitchen to get a knife but was stopped by one of the men armed with a gun.

The men reportedly looked through the house before running off. Officers searched the area but were unable to find them.
