State Patrol looking for van in connection with fatal hit and run

ABERDEEN, Wash. -- Police are looking for a Chevrolet van, commonly known as a contractor's van, in connection with a fatal hit and run that took place last week in Aberdeen.

Katrina Rugg, 36, was found dead in a ditch along State Route 12 Dec. 3. She was last seen leaving her home in Aberdeen two days earlier.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Rugg was walking along SR 12 when she was killed in a hit-and-run collision, though it is uncertain when the hit-and-run occurred.

Based on evidence left at the scene, the vehicle that hit Rugg is believed to be a Chevrolet work van made between 2003 and 2011, according to the State Patrol.

While it is unknown what color the van was, it should have damage to the passenger-side headlight and be missing its passenger-side mirror.
