Teen arrested in connection with two armed robberies

TUMWATER, Wash. -- A 17-year-old man was arrested early Thursday in connection with two armed robberies that took place at Tumwater convenience stores this week.

According to the Tumwater Police Department, a masked man robbed two employees at gunpoint around 12:30 a.m. Thursday at a 7-Eleven on Custer Way before running off with cash.

An officer spotted the suspect running away and arrested him, according to police.

Based on the suspect's clothing and robbery style, police believe he is also responsible for an armed robbery at a Chevron on Trosper Road two days earlier.

He was booked into the Thurston County juvenile detention facility for investigation of robbery.
