Elk caught in soccer net gets a helping hand

MAPLE VALLEY, Wash. – It took a little teamwork but an officer with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife helped free a young elk caught in soccer net at local elementary school.

The King County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for the trapped elk at Rock Creek Elementary in Maple Valley around 7:30a.m. Friday. 

A Fish and Wildlife officer also responded to the call. With help from Officer Bruce Richards, the young elk was able to free itself from the net safely. Following its release, you hear Richards say 'You’re welcome’.
