SEATTLE - Homes in King County are selling the fastest in the Seattle metro area, according to a new report released by Zillow, Inc.
The report calculates the median number of days home listings spent on Zillow's marketplace year over year. According to the data, homes sold in King County by this September spent 55 days on Zillow, that's down 22 days from the same time last year.
Snohomish County followed close behind - with homes averaging 56 days on the market this year, down 24 days from last September. In Pierce County, listings saw a 21 percent drop in days on the market this year over last, averaging 57 days.
Nationally, homes for sale on Zillow's marketplace were selling a month faster in September than a year ago - spending a median of 86 days on the market, down 30 days from 116 days in September 2012.
"Home shoppers in today's environment need to be prepared to move quickly, with pre-approvals in place and an established sense of what they're willing to pay for a home," Dr. Stan Humphries, chief economist for Zillow, said in a statement.
