SEATTLE (AP) - Democrat Jim McIntire has won the Washington state treasurer's race, defeating Republican Allan Martin.
Treasurer was the only statewide election in Washington this year without an incumbent.
McIntire, a state representative and chairman of Washington's revenue forecast panel, held a 52 percent to 48 percent lead Thursday over Martin, the assistant treasurer.
The outgoing treasurer, Democrat Mike Murphy, had crossed party lines to endorse Martin.
