The Washington State Presidential Primary will be held February 19, 2008:

Deadlines for Voter Registration: 

January 19, 2008 for mail-in or online registration: 

If you have a Washington state driver’s license or state ID card you can register online in English, Spanish or Chinese at the Washington Secretary of State’s web site, or you can download a voter registration form.

February 4, 2008 for in-person registration:

An eligible voter may register in-person at the Election Office in King County or at the office of any county auditor up to 15 days before the election.  If you register within this deadline you must vote absentee with the ballot supplied at the time of your registration.

Who can register to vote?


To register to vote in the state of Washington, you must be:
  • A citizen of the United States
  • A legal resident of Washington state
  • At least 18 years old by election day
  • Not presently denied your voting rights due to a felony conviction.
What if I miss the registration deadline?

You may register in-person until February 4, 2008 for the primary. This is only for voters not  currently registered in Washington State for the February 19 Presidential Primary & Special Election (RCW 29A.08.145)
