Erykah Badu says when she was a kid, there were kids who wanted to be doctors, security guards and other things.
She claims she recalls telling people: "I just wanna be funky."
She says she got to live out that dream the other night during the closing session of the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago. She performed for an hour, mixing in songs from her new album with previous hits like her 1997 tune, "On & On."
Badu was just one of the fan favorites performing at the three-day festival with a star-packed lineup. Also performing were: Sound Garden, Green Day, Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire, Phoenix MGMT, the Black Keys, DEVO, Cypress Hill, Social Distortion, Jimmy Cliff, the Strokes, the National, New Pornographers, AFI- well, the list goes on!
