Avril Lavigne to marry Nickelback frontman
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Avril Lavigne and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger aren't just making music together. They're getting hitched.
A spokeswoman for Lavigne confirmed a Tuesday report from People magazine that the 27-year-old pop singer and 37-year-old rocker became engaged earlier this month after dating for six months.
The magazine says Lavigne was introduced to Kroeger in February when they met to co-write a song for Lavigne's upcoming album.
It will be the first marriage for Kroeger and the second for Lavigne. She filed for divorce in 2009 from Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley after three years of marriage.
Lavigne surged to fame with her 2002 album "Let's Go." Kroeger has served as lead vocalist and guitarist for Nickelback since the band formed in 1995.

Well I am happy for her. I think she is someone that could be a great role model for all young women. She has worked hard for everything she has, including the writing of her own songs. She is not afraid to embrace her tomboy or feminine sides She is who she is and she makes no excuses.Â
Still good looking IMO ... though six months and then taking the vows seriously what is the darn rush? ... wife and I were together for 2.5 years before we took the vows. That is just my opinion to each his own .... but such things are whats dilluding the value of marriage when people rush right in head first and they end up ending it... honestly take some time folks divorces are very expensive!

Some people think that since they don't like a particular artist, that artist is either a terrible artist or not one at all. It's one of those shallow, narrow-minded mentalities that plague our society.
