Ben Affleck won't run for US Senate in Mass.

BOSTON (AP) — Ben Affleck is taking his name off the list of possible candidates for U.S. Sen. John Kerry's seat, which would be open if the Democratic senator from Massachusetts is confirmed as secretary of state.
Affleck says in a Monday posting on his Facebook page that while he loves the political process, he will not be running for public office.
Speculation about the Cambridge, Mass., native rose slightly when he did not completely rule out a Senate bid during an appearance on CBS' Face The Nation on Sunday.
In his Facebook posting, Affleck says he would continue working with the Eastern Congo Initiative, a nonprofit organization that helps direct humanitarian aid to the war-torn region, and for other causes.
Affleck says Kerry would make a great secretary of state.

seriously an actor for a political office.
Â
come on democrats aren't we the party of the educated. Â Have we stooped to the low level we need to start recruiting actors.
Â
Judging from the past crop of actors turned politicians, let's stick with the ones who know law/politics and let the other party keep on electing their actor hero's to run government.
AFFLAC>..... well personally if you ask me some of these folks we have in house right now are doing such a bang up job why wouldn't a hollywood star want to try it out... they cannot possibly screw up anything more than things are already screwed...
Ben who? I thought Aflac was a duck. ;)
Â
I wouldn't crap on this guy because he thought about running. I'm not a big fan of any Hollywierd actors but he's got a capable intellect when compared to most (including the Senate) and has shown a seriousness in his lifestyle. Any run for a seat would require demo backing and weed him out pretty fast if he didn't muster.
Why are actors so arrogant that they think they qualify to be lawmakers? What does this guy know about politics and the legal system? What do any of them know about it?
 @jowsuf What do our currently elected politicians know about politics and mainly what's good for this country and its citizens? That's right; nothing
 @Larry*X*K Touche
@jowsuf Ronald Reagan?Â
 @lakeview Ronald Reagan was never a "lawmaker." Governors and Presidents don't make law.
Â
0-3
@Getov Mylon  I don't even know why I'm bothering to respond to such hair splitting nonsense, but only one person can make a bill become law. Hint: it's not the "lawmakers."Â
@Getov Mylon  LOL, U MAD?Â
He just doesn't have that Al Franken gravitas.
Remember when Bush nominated his personal attorney from Texas to the Supreme Court? That was hilarious.Â
 @lakeview Could you fact check your posts once in a while? Gonzales was not Bush's "personal" attorney. He was a Counsel to GOVERNOR Bush. Nor was he nominated to the Supreme Court. Cancel your subscription to the "Daily Worker."
Â
So you're 0 for 2.
Â
Â
@Getov Mylon  You look silly here. Very silly.Â
 @lakeview Oh! Harriet Miers. You're right on that one... geez... what a doofy nomination that was.
For the rest of us let me just say thank you!
Wooh, that was close. Â There is still a chance for Dare Devil 2 and Gigli 2.
