Bieber's mom produces anti-abortion short film

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Justin Bieber's mother, Pattie Mallette, is an executive producer on an upcoming anti-abortion short film.
The makers of "Crescendo" hope to raise $10 million for pregnancy centers at screenings worldwide starting Feb. 28. Mallette herself will appear at some of these, said production company Movie to Movement on Friday.
The pop star's mother has written and spoken extensively about the addiction and abuse that led to her teenage pregnancy.
Mallette said in a statement she hopes her involvement with "Crescendo" will "encourage young women all over the world, just like me, to let them know that there is a place to go, people who will take care of you and a safe home to live in if you are pregnant and think you have nowhere else to turn."

I'm surprised, yet glad to see somebody in Hollywood take the side of babies for once. For unwanted pregnancies, have the mother and father be financially responsible for that child until the child is 18, or face serious jail time. So if they want to give up the child, fine, but they need to finance the childs life at the orphanage or foster house for 18 years, and have their wages garnished, as if they owe money to the IRS. Maybe that will force people to have unprotected sex only when they are married. That's only fair for the child, isn't it?
I don't want to hear any replies about kids with defects, or when mothers life is in danger, I'm not talking about those, but about the sluts who go do some guy in the bar bathroom, and then get abortions. If the above rule is adopted, instead of going on to clubs during weekends, those parents will go out to work their second job in order to pay for the kids. Other kids will look at their misery for 18 years, and be a lot more mature and responsible I think.
Mind your own business Ms. Bieber !!! Your choice to have a kid, boo hoo after addiction (usually self inflicted) and likely getting government support to raise this kid is not a choice I would make. No one should be made to feel guilty for making their choice, but if you decide to have the kid, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO AFFORD IT but yet I end up paying for your choices with my tax dollars and would rather not ! Or, if to be fair, if I want a porche and can't afford it, I should still get it and expect everyone to help me pay for it. Your choices are YOURs alone and should be, so don't preach to everyone else your beliefs and expect everyone else should pay for them !!!!
It's a shame she didn't abort him...
@SoundersCougzBravesPackers I am appalled at your comment. You (or I) may not like his music however this is a human being that has not committed any crimes, hurt anyone and has become wealthy enough to take care of his mother just as she took care of him. I am not one for welfare however whatever help she may have received in order to be able to raise him has paid off. I can understand your statement if we were talking about a rapist, murderer or pedophile but because you don't like his music you think he should have been aborted. Those that abort, rob the world of the potential of having a remarkable and beneficial person make positive changes. I am not saying he has contributed to something positive but just think, a child that was aborted could very well be what the world needs. Maybe not even that child but perhaps that child's grandchild.
butt hurt much?
@SoundersCougzBravesPackers I seriously only clicked on the story to make that comment. Bravo on beating me.
Ward, there being rather hard on the Bieber today....
As I read the comments after this story, it's pretty clear there are some guys out there who have to run other people down to try to make themselves feel bigger. Remember, your  remarks reveal a lot more about you than they do about him... he's laughing all the way to the bank, while you're writing nasty comments about him in your mom's basement. Well played!
I just threw up in my Cheerios.
If you cannot afford to have a child, DONT have one. If you catch the pregnancy within eight weeks and you are living in some run-down basement apartment not knowing how you will pay rent and electricity next week - or worse, you are dependent on the government for survival - then adoption or abortion (and simultaneous IUD placement) is a responsible solution. Don't bring an innocent life into this world to suffer from your poor choices. Bieber's mom is an outlier, you cannot pop a child out in hopes they will become a millionaire and support you before their 18th birthday. My mom was an ultrasound tech, I understand the development process and arguing with me over this is futile.

@deadcandance And that matters to you? Why?
I feel bad for the abuse she endured. But I feel even worse for the abuse music has endured at the hands of her son.
Pretty bad when you're "prettier" than your mom.
@Harley-H.S.C. The daughter is supposed to be prettier.
No talent hack. And now his mom is involved. Great... thanks.

Not.
Oh, so Beiber was in a teenage pregnancy? Guess this is a good case against it! Just hope this doesn't inspire teen girls to get pregnant thinking they can have a totally overrated pop star for a kid!
It's nice to see the two ladies agree on something.
