Fiona Apple arrested for hashish in West Texas
EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Singer-songwriter Fionna Apple has been arrested for hashish possession at a West Texas town after a Border Patrol drug-sniffing dog detected marijuana in her tour bus.
Sierra Blanca Sheriff's office spokesman Rusty Flemming says the artist spent Wednesday night at the Hudspeth County jail and would be bonded out Thursday.
Fleming says Apple "had a little tiny amount of pot and hash." Fleming says marijuana possession in small amounts is a misdemeanor, while hashish in any quantity is a felony in Texas.
Apple's publicist Ambrosia Healy didn't immediately respond to email request for comment.
The Sierra Blanca check point inspects thousands of vehicles daily and sends the town thousands of drug cases yearly. Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg and actor Armand Hammer all have been arrested in Sierra Blanca for marijuana.

Ahh yesss . . . papers, please? The drug war/court system/prison industry at it's finest! I wish they would enforce illegal border crossing and other more pervasive issues instead of picking on a cool performer hippie chick like Fiona! This goe's beyond making any kind of sense.

You would think that people would know about that town and its reputation now. It seems to me that if I were carrying any pot or pot-like substances that I would avoid that little town. It's just like trying to speed on 1-5 through Fife, you're just asking for a ticket!
Wow. I bet the cops think they just did the whole world a favor there. It's so sad that we still, in 2012 and in supposedly the greatest nation on earth, arrest people for possession of cannabis. Pathetic.

The article before stated she was in possession of .01 pounds of of each drug and a lot of us were making fun of the stupid measurement of that, which is like 4 joints. Censorship abounds. Now the story is all cleaned up.
 @jelisized Obviously they deleted the old story and posted a new one. Wonder why they didn't just update it. Can't imagine it would be soley because of the comments.
There were a ton of comments on here and KOMO made it a "new" article and erased them all. Censorship or error, KOMO? I've seen KOMO respond before, so what do you say? Were you erasing an article to delete comments (a lot of them), or was it just a fluke? I'm leaning toward not being answered.
