Lindsay Lohan arrested after allegedly hitting pedestrian

NEW YORK (AP) — Lindsay Lohan was arrested in New York early Wednesday on charges that she clipped a pedestrian with her car and did not stop driving, police said.
The 26-year-old actress was arrested at 2:25 a.m. as she left a nightclub at the Dream Hotel in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood, police said. They said no alcohol was involved.
Lohan was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and causing injury. She was given a ticket and scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 23.
Her publicist, Steve Honig, declined to comment. Her attorneys did not immediately respond to voicemails and emails from The Associated Press seeking comment.
Police said Lohan was slowly driving a black Porsche through an alley between the Dream Hotel and the Maritime Hotel on 16th Street when the accident occurred. The victim called 911. He was treated at a hospital for a knee injury and released.
It was the latest car accident involving Lohan.
On June 8, Lohan was involved in a crash in California that sent her and her assistant to a hospital. They were on their way to a shoot for the film "Liz and Dick" when Lohan's Porsche collided with a dump truck on the Pacific Coast Highway. Neither was seriously injured and Lohan resumed shooting later in the day.
The accident remains under investigation; police have said they are trying to determine who was driving.
Lohan remains on informal probation for taking a necklace last year from a jewelry store without permission. She completed a strict counseling and morgue cleanup duty program implemented by a judge. She is not required to check in with a judge or probation officer, but she could face a jail term if she is re-arrested.
Lohan recently filmed "The Canyons," a film by "Less Than Zero" author Bret Easton Ellis. "The Canyons" has Lohan playing opposite James Deen, who is best known as an adult film star with thousands of movies to his credit.

How many times does this woman have to hit someone or something while behind the wheel of a car before some judge takes her off the road permanently? What is this, number 4 or 5 for her? Why do they keep letting her out? Are they simply waiting until she kills someone before its time to do something about this menace to society?
10-to-1 the "victim" recognized her and deliberately walked into the side of her car - just like the last time.

Maybe the problem isnt' sober or not, but the fact she just can't drive. Perhaps she took driving lessons in Seattle.
Have to give the girl some props. She left a night club at 2:20 am completely sober. Sounds like she is winning her fight with addiction. As for the pedestrian, probably saw a really nice car going slow enough to jump in front of to get some $. Treated and released right away? So not really hurt? Sounds like the pedestrian might have been drunk, especially since the car was going slow.
 @dorimonsonfan Are you kidding? If this were her first time, maybe she could be given a little leeway, but it is not. Whether the problem is that she simply cannot drive, or that she is high on something, or drunk out of her gourd--it isn't the first time she has done this. And you want to blame the pedestrian??? Her track record of hitting objects and pedestrians while behind the wheel of a car speaks for itself. Please, someone lock her up and throw away the key before she kills someone, while driving slow and stone cold sober,
@dorimonsonfan   She left the nightclub around 2:20 am with no evidence of alcohol consumption. She may well have not been under the influence of alcohol, but it doesn't mention if there were any other recreational substances in play in her system.

 @glynes Please.  I'm no Lohan supporter, but nobody goes to jail for shoplifting unless its a chronic problem.  "Normal" people do much worse and still get off.  Do you know anyone who's actually been sentenced to jail time for shoplifting?
