Promoter: Chris Brown cancels Guyana show

GEORGETOWN, Guyana (AP) - Organizers say American R&B star Chris Brown has canceled a stadium concert in Guyana after local protests over his 2009 beating of then-girlfriend Rihanna.
Brown was billed to headline a Dec. 26 show. But he drew the ire of women's rights groups and opposition lawmakers who said Brown would not be welcome in Guyana three years after his assault of Barbadian superstar Rihanna.
Concert promoter Hits & Jams Entertainment said Thursday that Brown backed out, citing discomfort with the protests.
In 2009, Brown hit, choked and bit Rihanna during an argument in Los Angeles. He later pleaded guilty to assault.
Since then, Brown has worked to repair his image, undergoing violence counseling and putting out a new album. He has a duet with Rihanna on her recently released record.

Can anyone say......"Planet of the Apes".......
This guy is a POS. Â He is unapologetic about what he has done. Â The problem isn't him, it is all the teenage girls who think he is "hot" and who don't care that he beat up his girlfriend. Â I sure as hell wouldn't want my kids to think this guy was a role model. Â If parents would not allow their kids to buy this idiots music, he wouldn't be making the money he is, or be in the public eye. Â
@KRM66 Doesn't help that Rihanna herself is one of those girls who thinks he's hot and doesn't care he beat the crap out of her. Â
Didn't he get angry during a Good Morning America interview, take off his shirt and throw a chair through a window? Â He's a real charmer.Adam Carolla has a theory that proves more true with every passing day: If you're a guy that can dance, society will never effectively judge anything you do. Â
@CodeBlue Adam Carolla does have some great theories.  I agree that he is spot on with this theory. Â
He's a no talent punk who will be soon be residing in the where-are-they-now file.
So much for forgiveness. Â People, today, are forced to walk on egg shells of perfection. Â Those who get caught cracking a shell are burned for life. Â The crux of it is that EVERYONE breaks these egg shells.
@31F Some people earn forgiveness. Michael Vick did a detestable thing, but has served his time and apologized for what he did. Chris Brown is entirely unapologetic and acts as if what he did should be forgotten rather than forgiven.
@Shabadoo Maybe Michael Vick should raise little Chris Brown's and little Rihanna's.  He could then teach the little Rihanna's how to sing, and have the little Chris Brown's fight each other.
@31F  @Shabadoo What PLANET are you from?

What a punk.
The Guyanaians are lucky not to be subjected to his 'music.'
R&B? Yeah right! He's a pathetic rapper! You just insulted R&B!
He should be in jail.... Worthless rapper.
He cancelled because the women in Guyana are big enough to beat HIM up........and that scares the CR@P out of him.
