Rosie O'Donnell suffers heart attack, gets stent

NEW YORK (AP) - Rosie O'Donnell says she suffered a heart attack last week and is "lucky to be here."
The 50-year-old comedian detailed the experience on her blog Monday, saying sudden nausea, aches and other symptoms pushed her to do an online search for "women's heart attack symptoms." She took a few aspirin and went to a cardiologist the next day.
She says an artery was 99 percent blocked and a stent was inserted.
O'Donnell writes in a kind of verse on her blog. She says: "Know the symptoms ladies/ listen to the voice inside/ the one we all so easily ignore."
The comedian recently hosted "The Rosie Show" on the Oprah Winfrey Network. It was canceled in March.

Last time I saw a mouth like that it had a hook in it!
Shocking. Time to exercise and eat right Rosie. You have too many people that care about you not to get healthy.
Confession time: I only clicked to see what the comments said and y'all did not disappoint! Â Thanks for the chuckles!
Anger will kill you.
Â
Fat, bitter, hagged out and mean ain't good fer the ol' ticker mam ! ! !
Change your diet, exercise, daily.  I hope Rosie gets better and tones down her rhetoric. Â
I may disagree with her radical leftist politics and such utter hatred and intolerance to those who does not bow down to her, I truly hope for a speedy recovery! Glad to know she learned the aspirin trick and it does work. Best of wishes!
I thought she eats vegan.
 @starredsneech Ellen is a vegan.  Maybe that's who you are thinking of.  But Ellen is nice to everyone!
 @starredsneech No, that's 'vegans'.
 @WARevolution I just spit my drink all over the keyboard... that's funny
I can't stand her or what she stands for. Maybe now she will see (I doubt it) that people kill people (not guns) like forks make people fat.
NEW YORK (AP) - Rosie O'Donnell says she suffered a heart attack last week and is "lucky to be here." Well, I guess we can't all be winners.....anyway, as with Rush when he had his illness, people very connected to the mainstream media, Hollywood, administration, etc, held no restraint  in sharing their thoughts and feelings on the dittoheadmaster.....now did they?  Double standard, nah, more like standard operative procedures....of those who claim open-mindedness.
Well, I can't say I like the woman. In my mind, she has always been the poster child [and yes, by that I mean immature and whiny] for the knee-jerk Left, with a large dose of sexist femi-nazi thrown in for good measure.
Â
Yet, while I dislike and disagree with her, I don't wish her to suffer through anything like this. While I hope that she doesn't suffer and that she get well soon, I'm also quite pleased that we haven't been subjected to her rantings of late. Comes to that, maybe she and Donald Trump deserve each other...
 @svensson Thumbs-up for wishing her well even though you don't agree with her viewpoints. Thumbs-down for taking a cheap shot at the Left using this story.Â
@Poisonous Giraffe
Well, if it helps any, I take shots at the Right too. My politics are decidedly centrist /moderate.
My comments about the 'knee-jerk Left' are relevent inasmuch as O'Donnell's politics are one of the things that cause me dislike her so much. You'll note that I took a shot at Trump in the comment as well.
 @svensson  @Poisonous +10 internets for the Trump shot...  (Can't stand that self-aggrandizing buffoon)
Too bad for her. Wish her well even though I can't stand her or what she stands for.
That much anger is bound to do something....NOT a happy person.

 @Klondiko -10 internets.

A speedy recovery that you may continue to share your sunny personality that uplifts us all into being better human beings.
At least it wasn't Rosie in that airline in-flight bikini show (see thumbnail pic above). Can't figure out why KOMO continues to show exposed  genitalia on this, a family friendly forum.
@Sid Vishess You seem to be obsessed with that. Nothing wrong with good looking women dancing. Nothing is exposed.
 @alaska_dreamin I think some newbie editor is snickering to his friends that he got this pic that has the optical illusion of a woman's fufu posted on KOMO and they are betting money how long it...er... stays up.
 @Jill In the thumbnail, you don't see it?
 @queenofthenight Not talking about the video. Talking about thumbnail pic above..
 @Sid Vishess , your comment begs the question, why are you trying so hard to spot her genitalia?
 @Sid Vishess Oh Sid, I really hate to burst your bubble, but that's her skirt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxx9dG77H54.
 @Sid Vishess Watch the video, nothing is exposed except their bellies and some cleavage.
 @Klondiko  @Sid AU CONTRAIRE! The gal in the front. Look just to the right of the camera view screen! A---HA!

Must have been the first show that was ever "canceled"; all other shows get cancelled.
On another note, being overweight will eventually get to you. Might want to do something about that Rosie.
 @northwestsurfer
 Both spellings are considered correct and grammatically acceptable.
Â
Quips about Rosie's weight and spelling aside, this is a golden opportunity for women to educate themselves about the symptoms of heart attack in women, because they're radically different than those men experience and can be (and frequently are) overlooked. Shortness of breath, rapid pulse, heartburn, nausea, and heaviness in the chest are the most common, and most often women will just chalk them up to stress or fatigue.Â
Â
Ladies, if you find yourselves experiencing these symptoms, even just a couple of them, get to your doctor right away. It could literally be a matter of life or death.
 @mikeftm:Â
Also (I learned the hard way) women are more prone to "silent" heart attacks. That's what happened to me in 2009. The only symptom I experiencede was shortness of breath - but I had juts started walking again after my lower leg being amputated & spending 2+ months in a wheelchair, so I did not connect it to a heart attack.
Â
I have always loved the chart note for indicating a patient is short of breath: Pt is SOB (and in many cases it is true BOTH ways!).
What happened ? Did she discover that metal actually will burn ?
