Sarah Palin writing book about Christmas

NEW YORK (AP) — Sarah Palin has a new book coming, this time about Christmas.
The former Republican vice presidential candidate and Alaska governor has a deal with HarperCollins for "A Happy Holiday IS a Merry Christmas," scheduled for November. HarperCollins announced Monday that the book will criticize the "over-commercialism" and "homogenization" of Christmas and call for a renewed emphasis on the religious importance.
"Amidst the fragility of this politically correct era, it is imperative that we stand up for our beliefs before the element of faith in a glorious and traditional holiday like Christmas is marginalized and ignored," Palin said in a statement released through her publisher. "This will be a fun, festive, thought provoking book, which will encourage all to see what is possible when we unite in defense of our faith and ignore the politically correct Scrooges who would rather take Christ out of Christmas."
Financial terms were not disclosed. Palin was again represented by Washington attorney Robert Barnett, who negotiated deals for Palin's "Going Rogue" and "America by Heart." Both books were released by HarperCollins.
According to the publisher, the book will advocate "reserving Jesus Christ in Christmas — whether in public displays, school concerts (or) pageants. Palin also "will share personal memories and traditions from her own Christmases and illustrate the reasons why the celebration of Jesus Christ's nativity is the centerpiece of her faith."

She has a lot of free time after getting fired from Fox News.Â
I am unable to read any of her books. I can't lower my mental bearings far enough to read in crayon.
Christmas Eve: When Paul Revere does his annual midnight ride to warn the British about gun grabbers. Â
@Seattleisaslew on his cell phone
For the faithful (faithful in Palin that is), this is fine.
For the rest of us, we don't need her of all people to be telling us what we need.
For the religious, Christmas tradition is fine - but to be truly religious you MUST dump the Santa Claus, the Rudolph, the Frosty the Snowman, the elves, etc. etc. etc. Because those are all capitalist, secular creations meant to put a non-religious money making angle on Christmas.  For everyone else - Palin, piss off.
Perhaps a new fairy tail book on Christmas is needed, the old classic fairy tales have grown kind of stale, and if anyone can spice up interest in Christmas, Sarah Palin can. As for being pizzed at McCain choosing her for VC, it was not his choice, the right wing made all the decisions, McCain, like Romney were just puppets of the real power behind the Republican Party, dance to our tune, we will support you, don't and we will destroy you.  Back to Sarah, I say milk for all you can, Sarah, you have a soul to sell and might as well do your best, and well make it worth while. I'm envious as is most everyone else. Why?  Of course, she's rich and I am not.
Amazing how this woman gets under so many people's skin.
Laughable, actually...
@Throbbinhood Like most right-wing apologists, you mistake bemusement for outrage. She doesn't get under my skin, she just makes me laugh so hard it hurts.
I think (like so many others) you've mistaken me for someone who gives a rats ass about party politics in any form or fashion.
She will quit writing it half way through and blame the lame stream media.
"I can see the North Pole from my house!" I am still pizzed at McCain for digging this one up. Every time I hear her speak I throw up in my mouth - just a little. Turn the page.....
@d_2 Next time throw up in your ear, just a little.
she probably believes in santa.why is this news go back in ur hole lady
@brad What is an ur hole?
Just when you thought it was safe to go outside.
She can see Santa's workshop from her house
I'm pretty sure the book is going to have more pictures than words
@Lrry*x*KÂ I'm hoping for a pop-up book myself.
"call for a renewed emphasis on the religious importance".... Being ignorant is not at all important.
Once again using religion to divide. Good job Sarah! What a piece of work.
Yeah, well, we got "Smokin' (Something) Joe" as VP instead. He sure has made our electoral decision shine.
@Getov Mylon Compared to Palin, I completely agree. Better than most of the jokers currently in Congress.
@SalParadise Seriously, the Gafftastic Joe?  You guys must really spike the Flav-R-Aid...
@Getov Mylon @SalParadise Palin proved very publicly many times that she is an idiot. I can see why you support her.
@SalParadise @Getov Mylon Don't feel bad. Most of you guys fail to answer that  question. "Everything" is an answer that someone gives when they know nothing.Â
And the one thing you specify is her position on corporate welfare (like giving millions in tax dollars to bundlers and cronies, something this Administration is an expert in) is completely wrong. She has strongly and adamantly expressed support for free-markets as opposed to Obama-style corporatism.
@Getov Mylon @SalParadise Well, to start with, Everything. But specifically: foreign policy, immigration and her attack on "entitlement programs" while still supporting corporate welfare.
@ur 1 pea short of a pod I certainly think she got a raw deal from the press while Biden gets a free pass. And sometimes the Wasilla twang sort of irritates me.Â
@SalParadise Please name one or two of the most important issues that you disagreed with her on. You can look them up if you want.
@Getov Mylon @SalParadise You got that wrong, it's not "fortunately for her" it's "fortunately for us".
@Getov Mylon @SalParadise I take it you're a Palin supporter Get Off My Lawn?
@SalParadise "If Biden is an embarrassment then what the hell is Palin?:
Rich. And fortunately for her, she was not elected to serve under John McCain who would have been as disastrous, if not more so, than our current Traveler In Chief.
@Getov Mylon If Biden is an embarrassment then what the hell is Palin?
She quits every job she starts before it's finished and she has no accomplishments. I bet this book is going to be missing the last half.
Gaffes are harmless? Like recommending shooting a shotgun through a door?Â
Joe cares about Joe and his family, recipients of much  government money. He was a cherished friend of those credit card banks out of Delaware with those minimal regs and high interest rates. Not to mention he sold out the middle class on the bankruptcy bill of  2007. He is an embarrassment even to Libs.
@Getov Mylon @SalParadise His gaffes are harmless and he fights more for the middle class than just about anyone out there.Â
Now I can expand on what I was trying to say earlier - the holiday season is more than just the Christmas holiday. Â For Palin to come out with the book title above, her use of exclusive language is sure to warm the cockles of everyone else's hearts...NOT! Â
James Brown's song I mentioned earlier may have Christmas in the title, but the message is clear enough - that we all must stop the violence because every one of us are brothers and sisters to ALL...and he begs for peace.
Is the Tea Party Express like The Polar Express but, you know, completely insane? It'll be perfect on the bookshelf next to Glenn Beck's Christmas book!
What? Is she STILL running for Vice President?!
Aparently nobody told her it was over.
Noooo! Don't let Sarah Palin ruin Christmas too!
Gee...I just keep thinking of that song James Brown sang, "Christmas is for Everyone."
I guess Palin doesn't think so, eh...?
That photo...she looks like Gloria Steinem. The irony.
@PilonidalCyst Yeah, ironic that a women who rose to become a VP candidate would be subject to such sexism on the part of the Left. Shoulda just stayed in the kitchen baking cookies for Todd and the gang. Can't have them Conservative hussies about. Guvnin' is men's work.
Thank you for the"heads up". I'll make sure to ignore this book when it comes out.
Hey its a Sarah Palin White Trash Christmas! Wow just another excuse to jump back in the spotlight.
I'm sure she knows plenty about Christmas. She can see the North Pole from her back yard.
@whocares You get the Burn of the Day award!
Please go away and never bother anyone again. This will be John McCain's legacy, unleashing this joke of a politician on us.Â
I don't really think Christian when I think of Mrs. Palin. Christ said not to judge and that being rich is a sin.
@Sanctuary Where does it say that being rich is a sin?
@None @Sanctuary Being rich in and of itself isn't a sin. I guess it depends what you do with the money. Then it could tie into greed, gluttony, envy, pride. Depending on the person it could definitely lead to one of those.Â
@SalParadise @None @Sanctuary Or how you got the money in the first place.
