Sarah Palin's oldest son, Track, files for divorce

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - The oldest child of former Republican vice presidential candidate and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has filed for divorce.
Alaska court records show Track Palin and his wife, Britta Hanson, filed a petition for dissolution of marriage on Dec. 1. The court system website does not list attorneys for either party.
The filing was first reported Wednesday by celebrity website TMZ.
The couple married in May 2011 and they have a 16-month-old daughter.
The 9/11 attacks prompted Track Palin to enlist in the Army and he spent a year deployed in Iraq. When his mother was the GOP vice presidential candidate in 2008, she spoke at his deployment ceremony in Fairbanks, one of the few trips back to Alaska while on the campaign trail that fall.

It was George Bush's fault
@sentryone GWB was a train wreck. Worst president in history. So yes, in a way, you are right on the money you looney F&^&CK!
Don't want to judge, as this family is under the media microscope, and it's no secret that just about everyone wants them to fail. Â Got to admit though, being a conservative I was rooting for this family when they first came on the scene. Â But within a short few months I realized that Sarah's craving for attention and her need to polish her image in the media and making appearances everywhere she could is going to bring her down. Â Rather than doing a reality show, what she should have been doing instead, was retreat and tend to to her family's immediate needs. Â The Levi Johnston saga, Bristol's DWTS appearance, Bristol arguing with some guy at a club, etc. Â Being a Christian, what was she doing in a club in the first place? Â It wasn't giving a sermon, that's for sure. Â Ladies and gentlemen, take it for what it is: a classic case of child neglect. Â What we're seeing is the result of her and Todd failing to instill the proper values in her children. Â So while a lot of die hard Sarah Palin fans will continue to idolize and defend her, I'm going to say that she failed....miserably.
@dirtysinner Christians can't go to clubs? Wow... and I thought my fundamentalist Baptist in-laws and not allowing the girls to wear pants was extreme. For the record, I do not have any issues with a person of faith. As long as they practice what they preach. In this case the holier than thou Palin clan has as you have described - failed. Divorces, children out of wedlock etc. This is why they are fodder for the press. (or any mainstream preacher: Haggard, Bakker, Swaggart and the list goes on) The hypocrisy is monumental.
@d_2 What's so extreme about avoiding clubs?  Though they are places of worship....of pagan gods that is.  On another note, I recently read an article that is making me rethink my certain positions on the fallen brethren.  Check it out if you're interested.  http://www.christianitytoday.com/le/2012/december-online-only/going-to-hell-with-ted-haggard.html
@d_2 "Is it a sin in your eyes as a Christian to go enjoy music and dance?" Â
Â
Absolutely not! Â Think about this: God is going to throw a huge party in heaven and has invited everyone to come. Â So no, I have no problem with neither music nor dancing. Â Clubs....that's another story. ;)
@dirtysinner Okay, I bit - and read the whole article. Let's begin w/ your statement around Christians and clubs? (Being a Christian, what was she doing in a club in the first place?) Why shouldn't Christians patronize clubs? Is it a sin in your eyes as a Christian to go enjoy music and dance? Now... Haggard. I have never taken the extreme position to shun his existence. It makes no difference to me what he does. There is zero room for hypocrites when it comes to Religion. No one is w/o sin. However, when one commits at a rate where it becomes a trend, you have no right to preach to others. I say to you and others; keep your faith, practice your faith, just practice what you preach and keep it to yourself. Religion is the number one attribute and/or contributor of wars in the history of the world. Crusades and Jihads are two huge historical examples. Only if folks practiced what they want and not judge or impose on others, there certainly would be much more peace in this world. Here's another example of a disturbed predator. I personally knew him in the early 80's at OLPH. http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/2011/03/26/20110326dale-fushek-book.html What he was convicted and accused of is only the tip of the iceberg.
Well duh!! She was 6 months pregnant when they got married! This Christian boy didn't want to have a baby out of wedlock. That would be sinful. P.S. This family is against gay marriage. Just sayin.
Track? Bristol? Does Sarah name her kids after where she CONCEIVED them? And who CARES that "Track" is getting divorced? Millions of people do it a year, and just because he's a Palin, doesn't make him special.
OMG! The haters just can't get enough air time. Yer a pathetic lot.
There's help for that illness. If yer interested that is.
Â
But no....
@bobalouie Fox isn't therapy my friend... and what a CUTE kitty face!
The whole Palin clan is already divorced...from reality.
In my eyes, these people who get married and divorce so quickly make a bigger mockery of marriage than gays getting married and staying married and committed to each other for the rest of their lives. I've known religious people who got married after knowing each other after 30 days so they could have sex without sinning. Isn't that treating marriage like some kind of joke? Nope, not according to die hard religious people. Gays getting married is a bigger joke and insult to the special ceremony of marriage than straight people getting married and divorced months later. Give me a break.
Oh no! Now Sarah Palin can never be president!
Oh good! I was so concerned for the Palins since they haven't been in the news for a while. Good news for everyone to hear and care about! </sarcasm>
Maybe, Just maybe Track or Britta has good reason to divorce!!!! But it seams that not ONE person here can comment about something legetiment. I guess some of you people are jut too good for the rest of man kind...
@EASTSIDE 1 Maybe if "legetiment" ever becomes a real word, we'll have more success commenting on it.Â
@MargeGunderson Like refudiate.. I get it.  LOL
 @EASTSIDE 1 What's a good Christian reason? I'll wait....
@d_2 Abuse, Cheating, One becomes a murder........That is rarely the case anymore. Now people divorce over money, debt, cheating, lies. Once married no one remembers that they wanted to be with that person forever, and make them the happiest person on earth. Its more of were married and I am going to change and mold you to who I really want.Â
@d_2  @Just my say I don't think it applies to this situation either, but in some cases, divorce is more than warranted.  She is divorced and alive but he put her through hell in the courts and no, he is not paying for anything.  He barely spent a night in jail, though the police were called many times.
@JCCBlvu < Not the only one... any reference to 'Family Values' is directly related.  I can see how you might have been confused.
@JCCBlvu You made my case... all hypocrites.  Start quoting those poor souls passages.
@d_2 I'm also willing to bet that a large percentage of the 55% of divorced individuals are christian.  Oh wait, they aren't in your opinion, that's right.Â
@d_2 You're the one that brought religion into it!
@Doxie  @Just my say Sad Doxie...  she should have left him altogether.  My point is... those of true faith will not divorce under any (if not most) circumstances.  I don't think this situation applies to Palin, but I could be wrong.  I do think you understand by position.  It just riles up the religious hypocrites that's all.  Sorry for your loss.  I hope he is paying for his crime.
@d_2  @Just my say That is simply not true.  A friend had a choice - eventually be killed by her husband or divorce him.  She chose the latter, after 20 years of abuse and only after he started making threats to kill the kids too, as well as making lewd suggestions about their daughter.  She stuck in that long because the pastor told her to go home and work it out.  She was beaten and raped even more savagely during those last 4 years because of that pastor.
@JCCBlvu When she speaks on behalf of the whole family and their faith, it applies to him as well.  You can deny the hypocrisy in this situation all day, every day.  Makes no difference to me.  The fact remains that his actions flies in the face of those who practice the faith.  Also allowing you to quote passages that mean zero to me.  Call it what you want.  I am not the only one on here with this position.  In fact, I might even say you're in the minority.  But, it is the good ol' US of A and you have that right.  Note: your religious perspective does not apply to me.
@d_2  Yeah, in my opinion you seem to be judging.  In your opinion everything my parents believe, I do as well by default?   Hmmm.  That is definitely not the case. Â
@JCCBlvu Judging?  Actions speak louder than words.  I'm not the one who is participating in the faith.  While I have not heard him explicitly go on about his faith, it is quite clear where his family resides.  Hypocrite applies.  This holier than thou garbage, and do as I say, not as I do is pathetic.  I don't care what he does.  Only calling it what it is.  Til death do us part... or at least until I say so.  Just another example of religious hypocritical wingnuts. Â
Â
Â
Matthew 5:31Â Â It was also said, âWhoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.
Â
Matthew 19:9Â And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.
Â
Â
Â
@d_2    And what makes your way so much better than anybody else's? Glass houses my friend. And what is that about not judging... oh yeah...
Luke 6:37Â Â âJudge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven"Â Â Â Oh and this one: John 8:7 "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
Â
@Just my say A devout person of faith does not get a divorce under any circumstances. Nice try though.
Im brainstorming right now what his daughter's name is:
keyboard
guitar
antisceptic
glue
Â
Track, Bristol...doesn't anyone use normal names any more?
@2009Ultra That's actually a pretty normal name compared to what some name their children nowadays. At least it's spelled correctly.
@2009Ultra I think Tagg Romney is pretty bad too.
@2009Ultra Frank Zappa did with his kids! Moon Unit, Dweezil, Ahmet and Diva! LOL!!!
Sure, but Zappa was an artist, not a hillbilly. Or a chillbilly.
 @2009Ultra NASCAR?
There are stores that specialize in wedding dresses for gals that are six months preggers. The shotgun costs extra.
Divorce? I thought "good christians" didn't believe in such things.
@Shelly I know plenty of Christians who divorce, some over and over again!  Sometimes I think divorce is a little too easy for some people.  Working at it is what's hard but hopefully worth it in the long run.
@Shelly Just curious....do you have any reason to think he is a Christian? I've never heard the the kid say a public thing. We have no reason to believe any of the Palin kids are Christian. Maybe you just want to slag him based on nothing. Clever of you.
Along with family values BS they spewed they must of followed the Indian tradition of naming their new born on the first thing they saw when they looked toward Russia..
 @Windowseat
Dammit now that punchline is in my head!
I'd divorce that first name...
@Throbbinhood There is also a Trig. Throw Mitt in the mix and you get Trig, Track and Tagg.
@IronWafflez  @Throbbinhood Wait, isn't that the sound that Rice Krispies® make when you pour the milk over them?
@MargeGunderson  @Throbbinhood LOL! Can you say that 10 times real fast?
