'Star Wars' creator George Lucas engaged

LOS ANGELES (AP) - "Star Wars" creator George Lucas is engaged.
A spokeswoman for Lucasfilm Ltd. says the 68-year-old director is engaged to 43-year-old investment firm president Mellody Hobson. No other details were provided.
Hobson serves as chairman of DreamWorks Animation and is a financial contributor to ABC's "Good Morning America."
Lucas helped to launch the modern blockbuster age with his "Star Wars" sagas and "Indiana Jones" adventures. The original "Star Wars" still stands as the No. 2 film in terms of tickets sold domestically, behind only "Gone with the Wind."
Lucas has three children: Amanda, Katie and Jett. He was previously married to film editor Marcia Lucas from 1969 to 1983.
Disney completed its acquisition of Lucasfilm and the "Star Wars" franchise from Lucas for $4.06 billion in cash and stock last month.

As was the first question back in my day...did he knock her up?
Â
I am not sure I see the need, at either of their ages, and their successes obviously speak for themselves, so is this some kind of late life posturing to get their financial affairs in order? hmmmmmmm
Â
Whatever the reason, I wish them happiness and much love.
She seems to have it all going on all on her own. Financial security, beauty, brains and more.If he wasn't so wealthy, I'd say she sure is slumming it. Lucas may be innovative, creative etc ..... but he is a narcissistic , egotistical, self righteous clod. Me and my family are big Star Wars, Indiana Jones fans, but seeing the changes he has done and then selling it to Disney, I am convinced he cares nothing about the fans. Without the fans, he would be nowhere.
Mellody Hobson truly follows the money. I have heard her several times talk about investments. But now she is showing the world that she is a serious investor. George Lucas is worth billions. Most of us donât get the big deals; we simply get a good deal. http://x.co/rjyn
@Arianna Miller Whatever you get paid to SPAM forums with your useless SEO crap, it's too much.
Very interesting...especially considering that Disney owns Dreamworks and ABC. Also interesting that AP doesn't even mention the relation.
Geez fellas, easy up on poor old George. Â If you were 68 years old and dating a vibrant woman 25 years your junior, you'd be little tired as well, eh?
What can you say but good catch George? I would say that the dress may not have been her best choice, but she looks like she is a nice happy person, and George did well. The very best of luck to both of them.Â
SHe's sure got those boobies pushed up!
@Scoondog I saw that, too.  Not the best dress for her body.
She is pretty, vibrant, and happy looking. He looks like a stick in the mud next to her.
It'll be a good investment on her part.
she is well spoken too
Good for them - they've been together a long time. Â
When you have as much money as he does, you pay someone to smile for you. As for her smile, I'd smile like that if I was marrying into that wad of cash.
@Surveyor1 I am willing to bet she is pretty well off before this happened, also I doubt such thing happened without a prenuptial agreement ...just my .02 | I thought this picture was fake as seriously Lucas appears to be 'glowing'
@Freespeech I have 2 dark skinned daughters and it is difficult to get a good picture when they stand next to a super-pale friend. That said, I would expect professional photographers to be able to handle it without washing him out.Â
@Freespeech  @Surveyor1 I'd say it was too much flash or something.  All of the white in the photo looks overexposed.  You'd think with all the photo editing software out there, they could fix that.
She has a pretty smile. I think George ought to try it sometime.
