Taylor Swift afraid of ending up alone and 'a self-centered, vain human being'

It's a pretty widely known fact that Taylor Swift adheres to the old adage "write what you know," in that what she knows is being a 20something with a seemingly healthy dating life. But that's not all there is to Swift. In the April edition of InStyle magazine, the pop star gets candid about her feelings towards her fear of ending up alone.
"What I worry about is that I never want to end up kind of a self-centered, vain human being," Swift explains in the magazine's cover story.
"My fears circle around me making the wrong choices and messing this up for myself. I don’t wanna end up being awful and intolerable. Alone...sad, with a glass of wine just complaining that my life ended up alone because I pushed everyone away because I thought I was too good to hang out with anybody."
Swift's remarks are somewhat surprising, considering in another cover story this month (for Vanity Fair), she took on two of the most beloved women in show-business right now.
But the 23-year-old admits she doesn't really have it all figured out yet.
"I’ve thought that I did have a dream scenario before but it turns out that I change my mind and that essentially in your 20s all the puzzle pieces of your life are thrown up in the air and they just fall into whatever place and I think that’s healthy."
It'll keep her from writing great music too. The prince will always come before love for her. She's very idealistic(Is idealistic right?) Kinda like a Sansa Stark.
Writing songs about every boy, and man you've been with, will scare off all the real men quick. Boys and men don't like that crap. And when you do grow up, it probably won't be that bad. You can always buy friends!
she's always reminded me of one of those aliens on "V" (the original series)
Apparently, she's talented because people like her and buy her CD's. Personally, I don't get it.
Regardless, she can afford a shrink.
I know a lot of teenage boys who adore her. That said, I get the picture of a talented, yet highly insecure person. When you can't be secure in who you are and are needy of outside reassurance, no relationship can last. It's, like, exhausting.
When "The Onion" is making fun of you on a near-weekly basis, you really should examine your choices.
I sense a topic for her next 10 hits! All joking aside I think it is odd that we "normal" people can not fathom how lonely being surrounded by hundreds and thousands of people that care nothing for you, as a person, can be. People paid or looking to get paid hanging on your every word...sad that she feels this way. I have never been a fan, but from little I know of her she seems to be a fairly genuine and caring person. I wish her the best!
At this point, she doesn't have to worry about being a self centered and vain human being, all she has to worry about is being alone.
Could be worse. She could be Britney ... or Lindsay ... or ...
Whaaaaa whaaaa whaaaaa! Â
If you keep choosing to be with horrible men, then you will continue to be alone. Why are so many celebrities such train-wrecks?
All her songs promote the new norm of "I don't need anyone"....
Why did I even comment here?
ugh
Taylor has a long way to go after she felt it necessary to formulate a response to Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's obvious joke at the Golden Globes. Grow up and welcome to the adult world.
I change my mind and that essentially in your 20s all the puzzle pieces of your life are thrown up in the air and they just fall into whatever place and I think thatâs healthy.
Hmmm...I think Taylor Swift is growing up.
The solution for her is to change her actions and beliefs. If you (man or woman) walk around with a huge ego and think your better than everyone else, they will realize that and NOT want to hang out nor be with you. She will never get a man by being a stuck up, conceded, and rude bit**.. if she's nice and fun to be around then definitely. Â
Even though she's a celebrity, she wasn't born one.. she should be more humble and just treat it like her job as an everyday thing- engage others, take an interest in someone else's life. It's just about being a good person and being nice to people. If you can do that, you will always succeed and never be alone, and it's never too late to change! There are many celebrities, a few that I've met that treat everyone as equals, they are humble and just happy about life. They are doing they're thing, I'm doing mine and we still get along/friends anyway.Â
First, she needs to grow up.
She doesnt want to end up seeing herself as "self centered and alone" hmmmmm......I think she has that mastered already.   She's obviously not doing something right to not have a long term relationship.  Maybe she can take a break from music and focus more on her personal life.    I know Im sick and tired of hearing about her failed love life.
Well, she could start by not writing a kiss-and-tell song every time she breaks up with somebody.
I'm a tired of hearing and seeing TS. Way too much exposure in the last 5 years or so. I could care less about her personal life. Keep it personal lady as it's no ones business except for yourself.Â
Come on Taylor buy yourself some fish or take up golf...
I am not a TS fan, but hearing her speak of her insecurities, it makes me want to say, "Relax, lady...because it's when you tense up and make a mad dash, that's what makes you look desperate and clingy." Â I think if she could just calm down and take a healthy look at herself, she can change that perception of her. Â She brought it on herself; she can fix it.
@DMTÂ Well hopefully she reads your post as I'm sure your advice is exactly what she is looking for...
You'll never end up alone Taylor.....there's always Bieber. :) Grip that wine glass a little tighter thinking about THAT scenario.
All I can say is that I am sick and tired of the country stations playing her off as some big hot item. I obviously DO NOT like her and her whining voice, for her sake I hope that she does GROW UP and gets over herself.
@Old Trucks Yopu do realise you can change the station, right? It's definitely an advantage of this day and age you can add presets and you don't have toa djust a dial. Soon as you figure that out, you don't have to whine about it.
@Old Trucks That's why you preset two country stations on the radio so when one station sucks you push the button.
@Old Trucks If you don't want to hear Taylor Swift, tune it to a rock station.
@Old Trucks Calm down dude, lay off the caps
I think you're in the wrong business then, sweetie.
