SEATTLE -- The Puget Sound Veterans Affairs healthcare system scored low in several internal evaluations over the last 18 months, the Seattle Times reports.
During six reviews over a year and a half, the Puget Sound VA never scored higher than two out of five stars. Most recently, it was evaluated at just one star.
The Puget Sound VA was one of 127 hospitals around the country included in the reviews, measuring things like patient mortality and infection rates.
One of the worst issues at the local VA seems to be employee turnover. Rates of pneumonia associated with ventilator use are also much higher at Puget Sound than most other VA hospitals.
However, it did score well in low rates of MRSA compared to other facilities.
