3 seriously injured as semi truck collides with car

SEATTLE -- Three people were seriously injured in a crash that blocked all lanes of southbound I-5 just north of Downtown Seattle for about an hour.
The State Patrol says a semi truck carrying eggs was heading south at Ravenna when it collided with another car.
The semi truck truck rolled and ended upside-down on the onramp from NE Ravenna Street below. The other car spun around and crashed into a freeway retaining wall.
Seattle Fire officials said the semi truck driver was pulled out of the cab by the time they arrived, but that three people in the other car were trapped inside and had to be extricated.
The driver of the semi truck, as well as the man and woman in the front seat of the car were taken to Harborview Medical Center and were listed in serious, but stable condition Tuesday afternoon. Another passenger in the backseat of the car was also taken to Harborview with minor injuries.
Troopers say the semi truck lost a lot of oil in addition to the mess from its spilled cargo.
The State Patrol is still investigating the crash.
DOT crews reopened I-5 south just after noon.
