EDMONDS, Wash. -- Edmonds is one of those cities that just seems like fun. A place to shop, stroll and relax.

Council member Diane Buckshnis probably thought that, too.

Then she was appointed and elected to the Edmonds City Council and tackled tough economic issues with the same passion she cuts the flowers in her garden.

Then she found poop where no dog poop should be.

"You know, I've been in this neighborhood for 11 years, and I've never had dog poop in my roundabout or where my gate opens. And I'm ready to step out," said Buckshnis.

Buckshnis didn't say anything, didn't report the poop prank or whatever it was. Then she found something else on the window of her on Tuesday.

"I was walking around the Jeep and someone had written in letters ... '(expletive)' in green," she said.

Buckshnis says whoever did this knows where she lives. She'd rather the visitor ring her doorbell so they can talk.

"I'm not scary. I don't bite people. I just thought it was a very weak way to express their opinion," she said.

So how about that word on the window?

"I may be a little assertive and forthright, but I don't think I'm an itch," said Buckshnis.

Buckshnis says she not frightened. For two years, she worked on the banking system in Lithuania. Then she had a gun pointed at her.

She smiled and said she just hopes whoever it is will stop by and talk.
