Man sues Katt Williams over hit with mic captured on camera
SEATTLE -- An audience member claims that comedian Katt Williams clobbered him with a microphone during a recent show in Seattle.
Now that fan has filed a lawsuit alleging Williams should have never been allowed to take the stage.
Carlos Castro-Lino was sitting third row from the stage during a show last week when things went from funny to serious.
"When he stepped down he started saying, 'Hey, hey, hey,"' he said.
Williams was captured on video hitting an audience member in the head with his microphone and returning to the stage.
"Excuse me, mic check," he is heard saying.
"Every time I see that video the way I see he hits me, he hits me with force like he had anger," said Castro. "Every time I see it, it just makes me mad."
Castro claims he passed out after that blow to the head and suffered a concussion.
Seattle police charged Williams with assault, but Castro has now filed a lawsuit against the comedian and Seattle Theatre Group.
"It's just really humiliating. People that don't even know me are talking about it," Castro said.
Castro's lawsuit alleges Seattle Theatre Group failed to provide adequate security for the audience.
"It should have been canceled if they knew he wasn't in good conditions to perform," he said.
The complaint alleges Williams was unable to perform a scheduled show the previous night, and the comedian had previously shown "signs of mental instability."
Seattle Theatre Group issued the following written statement: "We have shared our disappointment with Mr. Williams' behavior in a letter to our patrons. STG will respond to the lawsuit through the court system."
Williams did not show up for his court appearance on Wednesday in Seattle.
His attorney said Williams had a medical condition that kept him from traveling. As a result, the judge issued a warrant for his arrest.

Good for you bro! Sue his pants OFF!! Hes the only comedian stepping off stage hitting people. Its principle here. It is ILLEGAL to physically assault someone. Don't want people recording? Have security kick him them out instead of hitting them with microphones clown.
Oh geeze, cry me a river. Â The most he should get back is his admission. Â People find any opportunity to sue someone. Â This is ridiculous. Â You went to a stand up act where they asked no photography on the ticket (if you bothered to read the fine print) and you broke the rules. Â Deal with the consequences and be happy you didn't get thrown out.Â
Its payday for Castro!$!$. But really? Suing STG? Castro should have known what a nut case Williams had become in last few weeks, since he was such a âfanâ. I can see Castro getting the humiliating part but everything else seems too much.
Â
What doctor diagnose him with a concussion, his license needs to be pulled. Castro make sure you show up to court with a neck brace, for good measure.
Â
Article also left out why Williams went after Castro, itâs pretty well known (and usually stated) you are not allowed to record the show. However Castro like an idiot did it anyways, right in front of Williams.
Hell Mr. Katt can hit me with the mic two or three time if I know I'm getting paided by him. He want to feel hurt get hit with a baseball bat or hammer.
So isn't there a small piece of the story missing here? Like, what did he say to cause the dude to come down off the stage to him? what did he say to provoke Katt? Dude needs to find a job rather than go around trying to sue people.
@8nthegate He was recording him and he didn't like that.
The mic isn't that heavy to hurt. The video shot is enhanced by the sound of impact. This guy didn't pass out. That lie should throw it out of court.
Another case of an opportunist trying to make a buck. I'm ok with him going after Katt Williams, but the theater group? Seriously? Come on. That is ridiculous and greedy.
 @The WA Mama Completely agree.Â
who is this clown , and why are people paying good money to see Him ?
Exactly how big and heavy was this microphone that it gave a man a concussion? Is there a video of the incident? Because it sounds like baloney.
@tats76 I was thinking this was a typical money grab, but after watching the video it is apparent that he took a pretty good blow to the noggin. Suing the theater group is unwarranted, but definietly sue Williams.
@Surveyor1
You don't even care why he came down from the stage in the first place? WTF?
@tats76 You can see it above.  He did get popped pretty hard.  I can see suing the performer, but not the venue.

Â
Really? Blame STG for not stopping a 'comedian' performer doing their show because "he wasn't in good conditions"? Hell, most comedians I know and have seen are unstable and not of "good conditions". If they were perfectly normal they wouldn't get up on that stage in the first place.
Â
Blame and sue Katt W, but not the theater group. The only one responsible for his actions is... him.
Â
Castro, you're starting to sound like a whinging little nancy boy.
Whatever......His dr. buddy said you have a serious injury (wink wink) you wanna make a few $$$ ?
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. How do you like stand-up now, Katt?
Sue Sue Sue ! Yep...the easy buck. Kat Williams is a crass, rude, full of himself so and so but he doesn't make me 1/4 as sick as this idiot that is trying to sue him. How long did it take the ambulance chaser to come bang at your door. Concussion my butt you lazy bubble baby pansy. If it judge hears this case...he should be voted out of office. etc etc etc
Suing a has been for what little he has left.......good luck with that.
Dang auto correct...
Castro looses my sympathy when he includes the theater in his suit. Nonsense either way.
@HawkEye -- I would normally agree with you however STG has been all out disrespectful to the people that purchased tickets through them. A LARGE amount of people didn't even want the tickets for the Friday show because of the no show on Thursday and a lot of people lost out on travel, hotel etc...which stg will not refund...I get why they will not however when people are to scared to make the same mistake on Friday they didn't want to risk it and they wouldn't offer a refund to the Friday and Saturday showing. So it was pretty much a crap shoot if he was going to be there. Show was terrible, and this guy is right, Katt shouldn't have even been allowed on stage.. after this and the Oakland mishap I've lost all respect for this comedian and STG as they should have cancelled his show.
Â
Wow, that really sucks that you get hit so hard that your unable to work and care for your family. Plus the perfect life that you had where no talked about you, and you never being embarrassed by anything. You have been shamed from the world, and forever laughed at due to this. Yup, I can totally see why your suing, you have only good reasons and it has nothing to do with an easy payday. This is the american dream now.Â
@Just my say I hope it is an easy payday for him. Frivolous, this lawsuit is not.
@Just my say Let me amend that. The lawsuit against Mr. Williams is not frivolous. Naming STG as a respondent is a bit of a stretch.
@Getov Mylon @Just my say That is a lawyer talking, not the plaintiff. Surprised they're not going after the hotel he was staying at, or any cab comapanies that may have transported him at one tinme or another.....
