Officials: Letter to Senate offices contained tea

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Officials at the Washington state Capitol say that a letter that arrived at a Capitol office building didn't contain powder, as they initially believed, but tea.
Bob Calkins, a spokesman for the Washington State Patrol, says that while they'll still continue to investigate that the contents of the white teabag is actually tea, at this point "our level of concern has dropped."
The letter was being held in the security office at John Cherberg Building, which houses Senate offices. Calkins said he did not yet have information on who the letter was addressed to.

Oh the Tea Partyers. That little test tube experiment of the Republican Party just keeps on amusing the rest of us.

@Awesomness incarnate @Citizen#3457899654 I like the occupy movement as little as I like the teabag movement - they are both ridiculous and beget more chaos then not.Â
@Citizen#3457899654 At least it wasn't someone "occupying" the envelope.
So sad when our officials are afraid of the people the represent.  But that is how our founding father wanted it to be.  Hopefully the don't try to prosecute this person as I see it this is another form of speech and should be protected no matter how much the recipient overacts.
@APenny4MyThoughts You're right, there's certainly nothing to get worked up over here. It's not like elected officials have received letters with deadly substances inside in the past. And it's certainly not as if the investigation into what was in the letter in question and from whence it came has cost any taxpayer funds at all. Besides, we all know there's money aplenty to throw around right now, right?
@APenny4MyThoughts the sad part is that some of our so called "citizens" are actually total loonies.Â
@TruthinAdverts True and there are 149 of them in Olympia (plus the Govener).
Warranted Teabagger comments in 3..2..1...
@Audio Cat On the other hand..... It's the season for taxation without representation... (fleeting thought)
@Audio Cat What a sissy thing to do...... poor taste. :)~
@Funky-Munky @Audio Cat Yep, they're out there - and the probably vote. Gods help us all.
Thing is, in acting out in any way, it paves the road for more dangerous behavior. And I agree what a Charlie Sierra thing to pull.
