SEATTLE -- Josh Divers is quickly mastering the physical challenge of walking on his prosthetic legs.

For the mental challenges, he turns to a room full of experts.

The support group at Harborview Medical Center meets every week, and it draws both longtime amputees and patients just days off the operating table.

Divers, an employee of Boeing, lost his legs when he was run over by a 787 at Paine Field.

The members share their hardships and frustrations as well as their triumphs.

"You are just so proud of yourself that you can do what anybody else can do," said Terry Day.

"When I woke up and saw my legs were gone, it was a sense of really being displaced," said another member of the support group.

The attendees share a level of understanding they won't find anywhere else. They know strength, and they show it with their arms, legs and spirits.

"To just walk again, get off the butt, off the chairs, knowing you're going to get up and actually move.")

The weekly support group is open to any amputee, as well as their supporters and family members. Attendees do not have to be a patient of Haborview.

The group meets every Tuesday at 11 a.m.

Divers remains at Harborview, and hopes to soon walk out without crutches or a cane.
