Woman critically hurt, abandoned after motorcycle crash
TACOMA, Wash. - A woman who was riding as a passenger on a motorcycle suffered life-threatening injuries in a high-speed crash early Friday in Tacoma, police said.
Officers responded to the scene, in the 1900 block of Marine Drive NE, after receiving a report of a serious injury accident.
When they arrived, the victim was found on the pavement, but the motorcycle and its driver were gone.
The woman was treated at the scene by medics then rushed to Tacoma General Hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries.
An investigation found that the motorcycle driver had lost control and crashed while the woman was riding as a passenger. High speed and alcohol were believed to be factors in the accident.
The motorcyclist then fled the scene on the motorcycle, leaving behind his helmet.
A description of the suspect was sent to local hospitals.
Police later developed information about the motorcyclist's identity, and will be sent to detectives for follow-up action.

 @Cabrina Mezias The police know who did this and have talked to him only. It is my understanding that they have not made an arrest or filed any charges.  That is the last update I got from the family which was 2 days after this happened when I rcvd that update.  If I hear of anything, i will write you again.Â
i think i know this girl.I was just told about it.Her name is Jessica and she worked at a latte stand in Renton Highlands for a while. If i was told the correct news.She is very funny and just a hoot to be around i sure hope she makes it threw it.If any one knows any more info please pass it along i cant find anything other than this
 @Ted Blakley She was to have her first surgery this a.m. She had to have 5 vertebrae in her lower back fused together.  Those are just the first of many breaks.

Hopefully the driver is still in the state. Best of all worlds has him waking up with no memory of his drunk, giving police a chance to get him before he goes to ground.

 @keri555 You'd be surprised at the things some of the actual organized outlaw biker gangs condone. A lot of them out there are as bad as it gets, and far worse than this. Hopefully, if the cops don't get him right away, they'll post the info they have quickly.

Drinking and driving in a vehicle that has four wheels is stupid enough, but on a motorcycle? Not only is this guy a low-life dirt bag, he is also a bloody (sorry for the British English there) idiot.

Drinking and driving (or riding) dont go together. The time to rationalize that is BEFORE you drink because drinking impairs your judgement. This injured girl is complicit since she obviously knew this idiot was drunk (I doubt he was drinking WHILE riding which means she got on the bike with a drunk guy.

Wither way, this guy needs to spend some time in jail and hopefully when he gets out, he no longer has friend because he has shown himself to not be worthy of friends.
Typical drunk jerk behavior. Act recklessly and then when someone gets hurt (someone who is probably the driver's friend), just leave them there and don't try to get or provide help, to protect their own butt. Lucky thing they have identifying information, and this jerk is going to get it worse for driving off and leaving her there than he would have if he'd just stayed like he should.
