Police say the woman was driving south on Auburn Way North around 2:10 a.m. when she crashed into a power pole at the 700 block, according to Cmdr. Mike Hirman with Auburn Police.

The man in the passenger seat was pronounced dead at the scene. Hirman said he was not wearing a seat belt. The victim's name has not been released.

The woman was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in critical condition.
