1 injured as man opens fire in downtown Olympia

OLYMPIA, Wash. - One person was injured when a man opened fire during a dispute among several people Thursday night in downtown Olympia, police said.

The incident began at about 11:30 p.m. when officers were dispatched to a report that a vehicle had just been broken into near the corner of 4th Avenue and Adams Street.

As officers were arriving, they received a second report that multiple gunshots had been fired near the same location.

Police located a man in his 30s armed with a handgun on Adams Street just south of 4th Avenue. The man had fired three rounds at several people he had gotten into a dispute with, and one of them had suffered two non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, police said.

So far, there have been no arrests, and the shooting remains under investigation.
