SNOHOMISH, Wash. - An 80-year-old woman was injured Friday when the car she was driving crashed into a home near Snohomish, officials said.

Fire officials said the crash initially was reported as a fatality. But when medics reached the scene, in the 6300 block of North Ridge Drive in Northwest Snohomish, they found that the woman was still alive, with minor injuries.

Chief Kevin Prentiss of the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened at about 10:45 a.m. when the woman drove off the roadway.

Aerial video shot by KOMO's Air 4 shows the car slammed into a shed attached to the home, wedging itself under a section of roof.

It appears from the footage that the car veered through a neighboring lawn, crashed through a hedge and into the house.

No one was inside the home at the time of the crash.

It’s unknown at this time what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway, Prentiss said.
