KIRKLAND, Wash. (AP) - Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani spent less than a half hour at a restaurant before leaving for a fundraiser at a private residence on the eastside.
About 50 people were at the Oriel Cafe in downtown Kirkland. Giuliani did not give a speech to the patrons, but talked to the media that had been told he was coming on Saturday afternoon.
A half dozen protesters were on hand to greet Giuliani. Two carried signs that said "911 was a fake" and "911 was on inside job."
Earlier in the day, Giuliani took his presidential campaign to Palm Springs, Calif., and Portland, Ore.
In California, Giuliani made a simple case for his presidential candidacy to a national convention of Republican women: He's not Hillary Clinton.
Speaking to a GOP organization devoted to getting women elected, Giuliani hammered on the Democratic front-runner and said he deserved their support.
