SEATTLE -- The man who was injuried when his motorhome flew off of Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie Pass over the weekend has died.

Ross Mayfield, 82, died at Harborview Medical Center at approximately 10 p.m. Tuesday, family members said.

The man and his wife, Etta, were injured when their motorhome veered off the road, sailed more than 160 feet through the air and landed on a hill along an underpass on Sunday, according to Washington State Patrol.

Both were taken to the Seattle hospital where Etta Mayfield, 79, remains. She is expected to recover.

The accident also stunned the couple's two cats, who who had been riding along in the motor home. One of the cats, Mugsy, was traumatized by the accident and ran off.

Volunteers and family members have been combing the area near the crash scene since, but have not been able to reach her.
