SEATTLE -- Strength in numbers is Mount Bakers solution to a string of attacks against women.

Seattle police officers, a city councilmember, and lots of concerned neighborhoods showed up at a meeting Wednesday night looking for ways to put a stop to four recent attacks around the city.

Police are looking at similarities among the four crimes, and the possibility the same suspect is responsible for multiple attacks.

Wednesday's event began with a walk through neighborhood streets -- a symbolic showing because the attackers are targeting women who walk or jog alone through Seattle's parks. Once inside, officers talked safety tips, and organizers are helping people link up with workout partners with the idea of safety in numbers.

"I won't go out by myself at night if it's dark," said Christi Masi. "And I think a lot of people feel the same way. It's really scary. and the thought of being attacked by somebody is one of the greatest fears of my life."

Seattle police have also increased patrols in and around the city parks.
