BREMERTON, Wash. -- The daughter of a murdered sheriff's deputy is asking for help to keep a killer behind bars.

A judge sentenced Nedley Norman to death back in 1978. Since then, his sentence has been modified twice. Now, he's eligible for parole with a hearing set for July.

All Gina Vinecourt says she wants is justice for her father, Deputy Sheriff Dennis Allred.

Allred was just 30 he died at night on a Kitsap County road. His daughter was just eight.

Her mother and father were divorced. On April 20, 1978, Vinceourt said she woke up and found her mother, her grandparents, her dad's girlfriend all standing around her bed. They told her daddy's been shot.

"I remember my mom saying, 'Tell her.' And she said, 'You know, he's not coming home,"' Vinecourt said.

Today, at times, she's still 8 years old.

"I'm a daddy's little girl without her daddy," she said. "He took that away from me and it's not fair."

Norman has spent the last 33 years behind bars. From now on, he's entitled to a parole hearing every two hears. Vinecourt will be there.

"(Norman) started this, when he killed my dad," she said. "It's on. And I'm not letting it go."

She carries a notebook with pictures, an autopsy report and the comments of lawmen who don't want Norman released.

Ben Anson, a retired Bremerton cop, has had 30 contacts with Norman. He even wrote a letter before the fatal shooting expressing concern over Norman's possession of a gun.

"He was always aggressive. In fights, ready to fight. A hothead," Anson said.

Some want to keep Norman in jail because of what he might do. Vinecourt fights because of what Norman did.

"I can't not do it," she said. "I'm daddy's girl."

Norman's parole hearing will be in July. Vinecourt has petitions calling on the parole board to keep Norman locked up.

Those petitions can be found on Facebook, on a page called Justice for Kitsap County Deputy Dennis Allred.
