Hiker finds skull near Mineral

CHEHALIS, Wash. (AP) - Lewis County sheriff's detectives are looking for evidence at a wooded area near Mineral where a hiker found part of a human skull on Saturday.

Detectives, with the assistance of Lewis County Search and Rescue, are continuing to search the area for potential evidence.

The sheriff's office says the skull is being sent to a forensic pathologist for examination. They add it's too early for any kind of identification.
