Boy, 3, killed in accident at inflatable playground
CASTLE ROCK, Wash. - A 3-year-old Longview boy was killed Saturday when two adults fell on him while jumping around on inflatable play equipment at a business here that holds private parties for kids and adults.
The boy, identified as Jacob Pierce, suffered traumatic head injuries and was taken to St. John Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about 3:20 p.m., Castle Rock police said.
According to police, the incident happened shortly before 3 p.m. as the boy was attending a birthday party at Hoppin' Houses, a 6,000-square-foot indoor playground that includes inflatable slides, obstacles and other play equipment.
Police said the two adults fell off the inflatable toy they were jumping on and landed on the boy, who was standing near them. The names of the adults involved were not immediately released.
