PUYALLUP, Wash. -- Pierce County detectives have arrested a man after his roommate was found dead on Monday night.

Det. Ed Troyer said a tip led investigators to a shallow grave near Graham where they found the body of a 31-year-old woman.

Detectives believe the woman was fatally shot sometime Sunday, but an autopsy has not yet been performed.

Investigators said the woman has been identified, and her family was being notified.

Detectives arrested the woman's roommate on Monday. The 50-year-old man has been booked into jail for investigation of first-degree murder.

Investigators said the two lived in an apartment in the 9800 block of 158th Street NE in Puyallup.

No other details were immediately available, and a motive was not given.
