2-year-old boy shot while playing with gun

DALLAS, Ore. -- The mother of a toddler who was accidentally shot in the stomach said her sons were playing with a gun they found in her purse when the shooting happened.
The 2-year-old boy survived the shooting, which happened in Dallas on Friday night. He was released from the hospital on Saturday afternoon.
Johnnie Flow said she bought the gun for protection in February and kept it in her purse. She said the weapon was normally not loaded, but when her kids found it there were bullets in the gun.
Flow and her husband were home when the shooting happened. She immediately took her injured son to the hospital and said she was afraid he was going to die.
Investigators said they believe the toddler's 3-year-old brother pulled the trigger, although they are not cetain because the two young boys are the only witnesses.
So far neither Flow nor her husband has been charged with any crimes, although the Polk County district attorney is reviewing the case.
If she is charged, Flow told KATU she deserves any punishment she might receive.
Police said as far as they know, Flow does not have a concealed weapons permit.
She said she plans to never keep guns in her house again.
