Motorcyclist injured in crash with Ride the Duck vehicle

SEATTLE -- A motorcyclist was injured in a crash with an amphibious tour vehicle in downtown Seattle on Monday.

The accident involving a Ride the Duck vehicle occurred in the eastbound lanes of Pike Street at Third Street at approximately 2:23 p.m.

Police said the motoryclist stopped for a red light, and the tour vehicle topped behind the bike. When the light turned green, the driver of the Duck pulled forward, running over the bicycle.

The motorcyclist became trapped under the carriage of the tourist vehicle and was dragged across the intersection before clearing the back of the vehicle.

The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center. Medics said the man was conscious, alert and in stable condition when he was transported.

Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.

No citation has been issued, but the investigation is ongoing.
