Mt. Vernon football coach arrested for alleged domestic violence

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. (AP) - Mount Vernon High School head football coach Jaxon Schwiekert was arrested Tuesday for investigation of domestic violence.

The Skagit County sheriff's office says a deputy spoke to the victim and arrested Schweikert at the high school, where he's a physical education teacher.

School district human resources executive director David Anderson told the Skagit Valley Herald the alleged crime does not involve students or other school staff.

Schweikert has worked for the school district for three years.

Mount Vernon's next game is Saturday versus O'Dea at Seattle's Memorial Stadium.
