Student drowns in pool at Wenatchee High School

WENATCHEE, Wash. -- A student at Wenatchee High School was pronounced dead after being found unconscious in the school's swimming pool.

Antonio Reyes, 14, was found just before 11 a.m. Thursday. The teen was taken to Central Washington Hospital, but could not be revived.

Investigators said Reyes had been in the pool with other students for a swimming pool that ended at 10:09 a.m. Based on interviews, police believe Reyes drowned while in class -- an incident that went unnoticed by the teacher and the other students. He was found by a student in the next swimming class, which began at 10:50 a.m.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death. Detectives do not suspect foul play.
