Teen girl struck by wayward car in Everett dies of injuries
EVERETT, Wash. - A 14-year-old girl has died of injuries she suffered Thursday when struck by a wayward car at an Everett intersection, police said.

Everett police say a Chevy Suburban was heading east on 112th Street SE and making a left turn onto 7th Avenue SE when it collided with a westbound Camry at about 2:40 p.m.

The impact sent the Camry careening onto a sidewalk where it struck the teen, and then hit a building and rolled over onto its hood, coming to rest next to a tree.

The seriously injured teen was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she later died. Family and friends identified her as Perla Hernandez

The 48-year-old driver of the Camry was taken to Providence Medical Center in Everett to be evaluated. Police say the 16-year-old driver of the Suburban was not injured.

Police continue to investigate the collision and death. Criminal charges, if any, will be forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for review and a charging decision.
