MARYSVILLE, Wash. -- Six students of Marysville Middle School were placed on emergency expulsion following an incident aboard a school bus.
Police said the boys targeted a 13-year-old girl in a sexually-motivated assault on March 1. The girl was not injured.
"There are no injuries," said Marysville Police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux. "If she was touched at all it was very lightly, so she didn't suffer any physical injuries. She is mad, understandably, distraught about the situation and not happy that it happened to her."
School officials say they're working with police.
"There is a video tape that has been turned over to the police department. We were alerted about this incident last Friday afternoon," said Gail Miller, assistant superintendent for the Marysville School District.
The boys are between 11 and 15 years old, said police. No charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing.
"We're all very alarmed by this incident," Miller said. "We've been working this year particularly with our middle schools on issues of intimidation and bullying and harassment, so we're particularly saddened by this incident."
Lamoureux echoed those sentiments.
"This is a serious incident. Kids ought to be able to feel safe on the bus to get home from school or to school and that didn't happen in this case."

I am glad that at least the school is doing something about it. I had a similar incident once in my bus with a boy and a 14 year old girl, and when i made the report the principal said he was not able to do anything because he did not want to look like a sick old man telling the parents that their kids were having sex in the bus. Since he knew none of them was gonna say anything about it principal knew was easy to get away with hiding is. I was not able to do nothing else other then the report to the school, I did not receive it in writing either, they are smart enough. Anyways get to know whats going on in your bus by the comments of other student review the bus driver at www.ratemybusdriver.com and write a review your self, to help other parents and student avoid this kinds of incidents.Â
