16 years later, police try to ID man found dead in Tumwater

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Authorities in the state of Washington have contacted the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation for help in an effort to identify a man found dead in 1998.

Investigators say the man's burned body was found in central Washington in the Olympia suburb of Tumwater and that he had told other people before his death of his ties to Oklahoma.

The man is believed to have been in his late teens or early 20s, was 5-feet-8 to 5-feet-10-inches tall and weighed about 165 pounds.

He had short light brown or red hair and was wearing two dark blue sweatshirts over a white "Sherwin Williams" T-shirt, painter-style pants and camel-colored work boots when his body was discovered.
