Two killed in head-on crash
YELM, Wash. -- Two people were killed late Tuesday in a head-on crash southeast of here.
According to a Washington State Patrol report, a 1998 Mercedes driven by 49-year-old Daniel B. Hallock of Tacoma crossed the center line at a high rate of speed around a curve.
The car collided with a northbound 2007 Hyundai Elantra driven by 54-year-old Melanie C. Fisher of Yelm, and both drivers died at the scene.
Two passengers in Hallock's car were hospitalized.
The crash occurred about 11:15 p.m. in the 11700 block of Vail Road, an area known as Four Corners.
